Tuway in Bisayan languages refers to a type of clam, edible bivalve mollusks commonly found in shallow coastal waters, tidal flats, and mangrove areas in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
On low-tide evenings & mornings, these shells were collected near the coastal mangroves of Obo-ob, Bantayan island, in the heart of the Philippine archipelago.
These pieces were designed together with local artisans & members of the mangrove marine protected area & eco-park.
